K24: The Dinas Halak Contract

One evening after sundown, a stranger shows up at your front gate. He is a smallish man with a rat-like aspect and a strange Imperial Kehler accent. He gives his name as "Mirkal" and says he  wishes to contract with the PC's for a dangerous job within the city, involving the "elimination of one of the local criminal leaders and their lieutenants". The pay, he continues, will be sufficient for the task, and his patrons can offer some assistance with things like arranging for the city guard to be elsewhere, details and internal layouts  of strongholds, passwords, and so on. It must be done relatively soon, and the PC's should take steps to conceal their identities if they wish to avoid blowback. The offered pay is $2000 for one night's work, in town. It is a fair amount for such work if anyone has Streetwise, but can probably be negotiated. Details will be provided on acceptance of the contract, which will not go through the Armsman's Guild for discretionary purposes.

Jason's Q's
1) "Mutual acquaintances" recommended you. As out of towners, you have no troublesome attachments or allegiances.
2) If successful, you will only need to vanish for a week or two. After that, you will have a very powerful individual in your debt.
3) This is indeed an issue, but only if you are unsuccessful.
4) A handful, but that will be disclosed upon acceptance.

Clint's Q's
The site, gang, leader, and lieutenants are unknown, definitely one of the three big gangs (Coppermen, Spikes, Peddlers). Too vague to pin it down. Rat Face offers details after the assignment is accepted.

Rat Face is a factor, a fixer of some sort. He has no obvious gang affiliation, and if you have seen him before it is only because it is a small world in Dinas Halak. His accent, however, troubles Valeria. She is Kehler, from the Imperial core, near the capital I think. His accent is western Imperial, Hyrkala maybe (that's the big port city just over the border, maybe a hundred miles or less), but you don't think that is his real accent. You later learn that Rat Face is actually from Dinas Halak, and is usually found along the Royal Mile, outside the wall.
