Trojan Trade War: Things Everyone Knows

Setting: The current setting is the Trojan Reach, a frontier region between several major interstellar empires. It is a bit like the "Outer Rim" of Star Wars fame. The current year is 1105 by the Imperial Calendar (5628 AD for you Terrans). Direction is reckoned in relation to the galactic core and direction of rotation... on most maps, things correlate thusly:

North - Coreward

South - Rimward

East - Trailing

West - Spinward

The Third Imperium, the human-dominated empire most of you call home, lies coreward and trailing. To rimward lies the Aslan Hierate, home of the leonine Aslan. Far to spinward lies the Zhodani Consulate, ruled by mysterious psionic humans. The ship's library has the following entry about the Outrim Void:
